A Letter From John Grzywacz

Thank you for taking time to review CITbus.com. I hope you find everything you need to learn more about Central Iowa Transit and how we can better assist you. As a small, family-run business, I’m proud to have been serving the Ames Community School District, the City of Ames and central Iowa since 1988. We work diligently to be good neighbors and feel blessed and honored to provide safe and efficient transportation to nearly 1500 passengers daily.

After seven years in pupil transportation for the Ames Community School District, we expanded our service by creating CIT Charters, Inc. This gave us the opportunity to support passengers other than students and the ability to diversify our fleet. Since then, we have seen steady growth and are now able to work with many other organizations such as Iowa State University, the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau, CyRide and NADC Labs.

In 2005, we started offering the CIT Bus Depot. Buses serving Greyhound, Jefferson Lines and Burlington Trailways can take you to all points north, south, east and west. And in April of 2008, we launched CIT Fleet Maintenance providing many of the surrounding school districts with routine service on their school buses.

We’re committed to the transportation industry and are proud of the work we do. And we look forward to seeing you the next time you ride the bus.
